The new Guard are up!

The New Imperial Guard are up for pre order on the GW website, it includes the normal and the fancy pants limited edition Codex.

The orders card deck,  ye right get a deck for each officer, we play Guard how many would we need to buy!



The Armoured fist is back and a bit of a saving from buying them separately.

The Hydra / Wyvern looks alright but i think my one looks better (post coming soon) and they really need optics or a radar on it, cum on you are tracking fast moving aircraft. 

And last but not least the  Leman Russ Squadron, which like the Armoured fist saves you a bit of money from buying them separately and they throw in Commander Pask and a two crew guys.




I am glad to see the Guard are back, i look forward to seeing what has been done to it. 

The Knights are Here…...

The Knights are up on the GW website, i have to say they look great and i think they have done a really good job. The level of detail is really high, i like all four of the heads. It may sound a bit odd but i really like the back of them. Unlike a lot of other GW walkers this thing looks like it could actually stomp around the battlefield. If only the Chainsword was a bit longer.

So that's what i like out the way, on with what i dislike. The price is far too high, $170 Canadian dollars! are you shitting me! i could buy a BaneBlade for the same price, which has a lot more weapon options (don't get me started) and can be make into a great many different types of tanks.

I really was hopeful that GW wouldn't do there normal price trick, but they did. After there recent losses they could have sold so many more units if they had only put the price down. Not so high and out of the reach of most gamers. Plus $24 for an A4 size transfer sheet, Shame on you GW.


I am an Englishman living in Canada, for the most part i have stopped converting the price of things from the Canadian dollor back into pounds sterling. When it comes to GW stuff i still do.

GW you are taking the Piss, nice model but fuck you i am not paying that much over the top for that kit. Even with the 20% discount retailers can offer that is still too high. Shame i was going to get one but not now.

Imperial Knights.

I am sure you have heard by now about the upcoming release from GW of Imperial Knights.

I have to say the Imperial Knights are one of my all time favourite models in the Epic range, i just like the idea of a Noble pilot commanding these war walkers into battle. I have seen some really good kit bash Knights in the past and i know of a few companies that make good 28mm sci fi walkers. But Deep down i always hoped that GW would one day make a 40k Knight, well that day is here and i have to say they have done a great job.

Don't get me wrong i dislike GW a lot for the direction the company has bean heading and the way they treat there customers, not to mention there unfair and bully boy style business practices.








































Credit where it's due, well done for making one hell of a nice looking model, that is very close to the original Epic version. Time will tell if they do a good job on the price?

Ultramarine Movie

Well i just got my copy of the Ultramarine movie, after watching it. I like it, yeah i know codex pics made a mess of the delivery day, but it could have been worse. I for one am just Glad they made a Warhammer 40,000 movie.

I can't tell you how many times i went into fantasy mode thinking about them making a 40k movie, with all the sights and sounds we have All made in our heads and out loud. I just hope this is the start of more movies, maybe with some xeno scum getting blasted.

Print on Demand

I am glad Black Library have finally a working website, and decided to start Print on Demand, i have recently got back into reading 40k books, i can remember the first 40k book i read was Ian Watsons Inquisitor (1990) - reissued as Draco. I think reading these books is a great way to add fluff and expand the hobby and Its also a great way for me to kill time to and from work.

In the last year i have moved from Swindon (UK) to Toronto (Canada) i was a bit worried on how i would be able to keep up on my reading, would i have to spend a ton of money and have to mail stuff in. But i should not have feared because most good book retailers over here stock black library stuff. The Toronto public library has an excellent selection of Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 books, i am slowly but surely working my way though them.

I have just ordered a copy of The Gothic War, as i had read Execution hour, but couldn't find a copy of Shadowpoint for love nor money. I am so looking Forward to seeing how Captain Leoten Semper and the crew of the Imperial Warship Macharius get on.

There maybe some people out there that are a bit annoyed at black library for starting Print on Demand, as they have spent a lot of money buying books that they thought were out of print. I was one of you, but then i realised you actually have a 1st or 2nd edition copy, which is still rare! not just a reprint so your copy is a little bit more special so everyone is a winner.

Lets Rock!!!!!!!!!

I just got my copy of Aliens v Predator and i love it! Finally they have made a game that is as true to the movies as we wanted. With all the sights and sounds we have come to know and love.It's almost like having three games in one,as all three species are playable. I tell you when it's dark and the motion tracker starts pinging you can't help feeling scared.


I am old enough to remember when Aliens first came out (1986) and just how Cool it was. I belive Aliens is one of the best Sci Fi movies ever made.
It has Everything a Great Movie should have, Good story, Great Acting, Action and Suspence, plus fantastic Special Effects. It won Two Oscars for Sound and Visual Effects, and was Nominated for 5 more. When Special Edition came out that was the icing on the cake.
Such a shame they wasted the opportunity to make some really great sequuels, but all is not lost, there are a lot of really good aliens and Predator books out there.
